vejo-me agora a sentir na antecâmara
do que seja estar vivo.
percebo, enfim, a ressurreição.

não a ressurreição cristã
e as vãs promessas.

sim a ressurreição que transforma
o ser para a vida
num futuro de esperança e tangibilidade.

mergulho, como sei, no mar
que agora me chama para o fogo.

I find myself feeling in the entrance chamber
of whatever is being alive.
I understand, at last, the resurrection.

not the christian resurrection
and its empty promises.

the transformative resurrection
that enables the being to live
a hopeful and tangible future.

I dive, as I may, into the sea
that calls me to the fire.

O toque nunca foi uma linguagem urbana.
Nasceu entre mundos.
No fim de um dia
e no princípio do outro.
Quando os lugares não tinham forma,
mas presença.

Touch has never been an urban language.
It was born between worlds.
At the end of one day
and the beginning of the next.
When places had no form,
but a presence.

Se a felicidade se misturar de melancolia como palpitará o coração?

If happiness is mingled with melancholy, how will the heart palpitate?

E por vezes
No espaço circunscrito do meu jardim
Olho para o céu
E finjo ouvir o mar
Para ser mais suportável o dia

And sometimes
In the confined space of my garden
I look at the sky
And pretend to hear the sea
To make the day more bearable
