no verbo impiedoso do vazio.

A couplet of gods and demons

Gaza is a long night; the days grow dark
in the sterile shroud of the world.

God is a long night; verses blur
in the carbon dioxide of fury.

Poetry is a long night; the gazebos fall
in the dirty earth of the elect.

Peace is a long night; silences are fed up
in the merciless verb of emptiness.

The world is a long night; the world sickens
in spring without language.

Man is a long night; he sails suicide
in the ocean like a motion.

Gazing is the prayer in its barbaric inheritance:
a long night in his ghazal.

A face da percepção

“to tell the truth the way words lie”
                                                             Robert Duncan

Não me julgo.

The face of perception

“to tell the truth the way words lie”
                                                                Robert Duncan

Until the moss comes to our eyes
and hide our distant names,
the glimmer of joy is the ash that remains.

I'm so, so angry with us!
I don't judge us. I just miss us.

That desert bottom we plunged into
“is the place of the first permission”,
the eternal and terrible “harbinger of what is.”

I don't judge myself. I only have myself to blame.
I'll love you until the end of my days!

This realization is defeat in itself,
the poem that is reduced to devotion.
I don't judge it. Nor its audacious truth

Os dias, em sua ferocidade, iludiram-me;
as noites, em sua violência, acusaram-me.

Esta derrota que distribuis, esta poesia
que legas, sabes, criar a ilusão no mundo
foi profundo e imundo por entre açucenas.

This poetry you bequeath

How to survive all loneliness?
Did someone love what they sensed
or did someone sense what they loved?

In its crimson tentacles, defeat
endures all volatile motion.

What use are these verses if they are
like all others, unfathomable
in the solar body of a Portugal of sea?

The days, in their ferocity, deceived me;
the nights, in their violence, accused me.

This defeat you disseminate, this poetry
you bequeath, you already know, to create an illusion in the world
was profound and filthy among lilies.
